Dear Friends of the AAPI Community,

In the Year of the Dragon, 2024, on the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 10th), we hosted the inaugural Lunar New Year celebration at Boston City Hall. As the city hall was adorned with the festive red, our hearts were also warmed by this bright hue, pulsating with excitement… This marks the dual recognition of the Lunar New Year by both Boston and the state of Massachusetts!

Let’s continue spreading this joy and inspiration during the AAPI Heritage Month celebrations, commemorating the significant contributions of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community to Massachusetts!

Reflecting on the celebrations of AAPI Heritage Month in 2021, 2022, and 2023, we, together with over 80 organizations, created a continuous celebration Marathon run over forty kilometers: from the starting point of the Boston Marathon, relay runs along the marathon route, water stations along the route, to the festivities at Boston Common. Through these events, we showcased the strength of our community with the relay runs, expressed the beauty of our community through cultural performances at Boston Common, and expressed our aspirations for a happy life.

During the AAPI Heritage Month celebration, the highlight will be the cultural performances and speeches by political dignitaries at Boston Common, lasting for over three hours. Prominent figures relevant to the AAPI community are expected to attend, making it a pivotal moment of the event!

Join us in celebrating our festival grandly, let’s showcase the strength and beauty of the Asian American community to the wider American community. Together, let’s strive to make America a more inclusive, open, and prosperous nation.

May 4th, 2024, AAPI Heritage Month in Massachusetts—see you there!
